Trade Intel (INTC) 24/7. The comeback never sleeps.
Intel ruled computing for three decades, lost its manufacturing lead, and is now attempting the hardest comeback in the industry: designing competitive CPUs while becoming a foundry for its rivals. The stock has more than doubled in 2026 on the evidence it might work. The INTC market on Hyperliquid runs every hour of every day, and Based is the self-custody wallet that gets you into it. No brokerage account, no bank account.

What Intel is now
Two businesses in one stock. The product side still sells the CPUs in most of the world's PCs and a large share of its servers, and that side is doing well: data center revenue grew 59% year over year in the second quarter of 2026 as hyperscalers scrambled for server CPUs. The foundry side is the swing factor. Intel is spending more than $20 billion a year trying to manufacture chips for other companies on its most advanced processes, a business TSMC has dominated for years.
The turnaround has unusual shareholders behind it. In August 2025 the US government took a 9.9% stake in Intel for $8.9 billion, buying 433.3 million shares at $20.47 each. SoftBank invested $2 billion the same month, and Nvidia bought a $5 billion stake in 2025 as well. The state, the banks and the industry's most important company all have money riding on the same outcome.
On August 10, 2026 Intel announced a $15 billion common stock offering to fund the buildout, then upsized it to $20 billion, pricing about 210.5 million new shares at $95 each. A year earlier the stock changed hands in the twenties.
What to watch
The near-term story is 18A execution. Intel's most advanced process entered high-volume production in January 2026, and output at its Arizona Fab 52 ran about 25% above internal targets in the second quarter. Panther Lake laptop chips built on 18A are shipping across more than a hundred PC designs. The next check is third-quarter results, for which Intel guided revenue of $15.8 to $16.8 billion.
The bigger story is 14A, the next node, and the first one designed from the start for external foundry customers. Tesla said on its April 2026 earnings call that it plans to use 14A for its Terafab chip project. The process design kit customers need for serious evaluations, PDK 0.9, is due to reach external customers in October 2026, and Intel has said it expects to hear about further customer commitments in the second half of 2026.
The honest caveat is the one Intel itself stated in 2025: without a significant external customer, leading-edge nodes do not pay for themselves. External foundry revenue was only $293 million in the second quarter against a $2.1 billion foundry operating loss. The August 2026 share sale also added about 210 million shares, so each existing share owns a smaller slice of whatever the turnaround delivers. The milestones above are real, and so is the hole they need to fill.

What you are actually trading
Straight answer: a perpetual future that tracks the INTC share price on Hyperliquid, which is a decentralised platform. Based is the self-custody wallet you trade it from, not a broker. You get the price exposure, long or short, with leverage if you want it. You do not get dividends or a vote at the shareholder meeting, and like any perp the position carries liquidation risk and pays funding while open. A turnaround story that reprices on single headlines is exactly the kind of stock a 24/7 two-sided market was built for.
Fees are flat and public: stock perps start at 0.014% taker and 0.008% maker, all-in, before any staking discounts. The full schedule is on the fees page.

The rest of the AI chip trade lives here too: Micron for memory, TSMC for the foundry Intel is chasing, and the memory stocks hub for the sector Intel's server CPUs feed into.

Frequently asked questions
- Where can I buy Intel stock?
- Any US broker sells Intel during Nasdaq hours. Based is how you trade it the rest of the time: the INTC market on Hyperliquid runs 24/7, weekends and holidays included, from a self-custodial wallet with no brokerage account and no bank account. What you trade through Based is a perpetual future that tracks the INTC price, not the share itself.
- Can I trade Intel on weekends?
- Yes. The INTC market on Based stays open straight through Saturday and Sunday. Foundry and process news lands at odd hours, and here you can react to it the moment it breaks instead of queueing an order for Monday's open.
- Do I need a brokerage account to buy INTC?
- Not with Based. Based is a self-custody wallet, not a broker: connect the wallet, fund it with USDC and trade on Hyperliquid. No application, no approval wait, no bank account. You are trading a perpetual future that tracks Intel, so you get price exposure without owning the share, with liquidation risk and funding fees like any perp.
- Is Intel a foundry now?
- That is the bet. Intel still designs and sells its own CPUs, but the turnaround plan is to also manufacture chips for other companies through Intel Foundry. Its 18A process entered high-volume production in January 2026, and the next node, 14A, is aimed squarely at external customers. Tesla said in April 2026 that it plans to use 14A for its Terafab chip project, and whether more outside customers follow is the most watched question on the stock.
